Details

Nearly the whole top is one board of burled maple, dense with eyes and swirl, and the single narrow band of red mallee burl sits off-center the way a good accent fabric does — one red seam through a pale quilt.

Like every clapper on this bench, it’s built in two layers: a hard maple base under the figured top, weighted so the mass — not your arm — sets the seam while it cools. Sanded to 320 grit, edges eased so they never mark fabric, sole left bare to drink the steam. You’re buying this exact clapper — the photos are the piece.
